Attempt shop burglary in Birstall

Alert message sent 23/01/2020 16:46:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear resident,

Sometime between 4pm on the 21/1/20 and 8.30am on the 22/1/20, someone has attempted to break into a shop on Sibson Road in Birstall. The person climbed onto a flat roof at the side of the shop, then broke a window to try and get in, however thankfully no entry was gained and nothing stolen. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact us on 101 or via the Leics Police website, quoting crime reference 20000040362. Please also consider using anti-climb paint if you have a flat roof, as criminals will often climb onto these to gain access to upstairs windows. Thank you.

The Birstall & Wanlip Policing Team.
