Dear South Leicester Resident You are receiving the following email as a resident living on the Freemen Police Beat.
This summer Leicestershire Police is supporting a nationwide campaign aimed at making communities safer more vibrant and welcoming for everyone during the summer months.
The government lead initiative aims at reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB) by creating stronger community ties by increasing police visibility, community engagement and targeted events. Tackling retail crime is also a big part of the Safer Summer campaign and officers will be out speaking to local business owners and other partner agencies to tackle and deal with those involved.
So far the Safer Summer campaign has seen several good results which have been highlighted on the South Leicester Polices dedicated Facebook page. These include multiple arrests of people wanted for outstanding offences, two warrants executed at addresses who have persistently been involved in both ASB and drug use, and a large amount of cash which was seized after an individual was arrested for drug supply.
Locally PC Joe and I will be out conducting targeted patrols in the Saffron Lane area, and I will be at several engagements which will be published in the most recent and upcoming Freemen beat team newsletters.
