BEAT PRIORITY – Road Safety, parking and speeding.

Officers from the #BardonBeatTeam have been conducting speed checks along PISCA LANE, HEATHER / IBSTOCK.

This location was chosen due to several concerns raised by residents of Heather and Ibstock. 

Officers chose two locations on the stretch of road to monitor the speed of traffic. First location being in the 50mph section entering Ibstock (long layby) and the second being the 40mph section entering and leaving Heather.

Section one: A total of 60 vehicles were checked, with 1 found to be exceeding the speed limit. (50mph).

Section two: A total of 70 vehicles were checked, with 8 found to be exceeding the speed limit. (40mph).

Action will be taken against those who exceeded the speed limit and results fed back to the Force Road Safety Unit.

Over the coming weeks further checks will be carried out at this location and others on the Bardon Beat.
