Theft of tools from vans

Alert message sent 07/01/2020 12:26:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

We are seeing an increase in Theft of Tools from Vans, to protect your business and vehicle here are some prevention tips:
  • Empty your tools out each night
  •  Take pictures or mark your tools for example with your postcode so they can be traced back to you
  • Stickers on vans stating all tools are taken out at night, your local Police Station may have these
  • To prevent access to the rear of your vehicle, consider parking it up against a wall or anywhere that makes it difficult to gain entry
  • Consider alarms with movement detectors
  • If tools are too large to move then consider having a lockable steel box fitted securely within your vehicle
