Closure of Op Behold

Alert message sent 23/11/2018 21:07:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear Members of Knighton and Oadby

Hello, hope all is well and apologies for the delay in sending you updates in what is happening in our area. As per the Op Behold I am sure that most are wondering to what is happening with this operation. It was launched due to the concerns with Gold related Burglary last year which was high. With the launch of Op Behold; we were able to increase patrols during the similar period as last year increase. Your local beat team were able to promote Neighbourhood Link and to gain support from local Neighbourhood Watch Schemes. There has also been an overwhelming increase with Neighbourhood Watch schemes which is something we are really proud with getting communities to work together. Having visited previous burglary victims, they have valued our attendance, and recognise the importance of taking active steps to embed crime prevention as part of their daily routine. The local community can follow us on our Twitter page which is @SouthLeicester, and by using our hashtags #OPBehold and #NPAConsultation will highlight the positive work being undertaken by officers. Op Behold was active during September, October, and part of November and is now closed. You can obtain crime stats by logging onto and then enter your postcode under the ‘Crime Map’ section.

Your local beat team would like to thank the community for their added support. Op Behold has been a success looking at previous year stats and shows that during the time Op Behold was active there has been a reduction in Burglary. Please can I reassure you that it doesn't mean that Op Behold is closed that we are still not delivering the service you expect from your local team.

Burglary and keeping you all safe is still one of our top priorities to reduce crime and we want to continue and grow good relationships with you all. Please continue to call us for suspicious activity, ensure that you share information and keep in touch with your fellow Neighbourhood Watch members if you are in a scheme. Use the 'Safeland' App to create a secure group chat with your local members to instantly share information together. Please have a read on the article below for more information and tips in keeping you safe.

Thank you
