Burbage Police Update. Residential Burglary, Vehicle Theft And Home Security.


Hello Resident,

 

We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week. 

 

Reported Crime and Appeals

 

  • Report of a residential burglary on Aster Way where damage has been caused to the back patio door and window smashed. Items of jewellery taken. It is suspected the incident occurred between 01:00-03:00 on the morning of Sunday 6th July. 25000394064 if you have any CCTV in the area that caught anything of evidential value. 
  •  

  • Report of a theft of vehicle (Ford Puma) from Brookside, near the Higham Way junction, at around 23:40 on the 6th of July. It is believed to be a keyless theft. Two suspects have been arrested, and the vehicle has been recovered. 25000394776 if you have not already spoken to officers and have any information/CCTV. 
  •  

  • Report of a theft of motor vehicle from Sketchley Road at around 01:40 on the morning of the 7th. Suspects have entered the back of the property via patio doors and completed an untidy search for car keys. A Ford Focus was taken from the drive. If you have any CCTV around Sketchley Road, Grove Road or Twycross road, please get in touch if you have not already spoken to officer and have anything of evidential value. 25000395269.

    Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement

     

    Further police activity including stop check/search on Higham way. We have also been completing work with Hinckley council regarding neighbour disputes and safeguarding concerns. We are also completing work around isolated youth related anti-social behaviour.

    Patrols ongoing around local parks including Britannia fields, Tilton Road, Rugby Road and Hinckley Road Park

     

    We have also been spending time completing work in relation to the car thefts, burglary and other suspicious activity that occurred over the 5th, 6th and 7th of July. 

     

    Crime prevention and issues to be aware of

     

    I have attached the crime prevention catalogue where you can find very useful items sold at cost, such as window alarms, fence spikes and PIR alarms. PLEASE consider your home security before you go on holiday and get in touch if we can be of any support with this.

  • Please ensure items such as house alarms, car steering locks, driveway bollards are used if you have them. Make sure your CCTV is recording and working if you have any. Items often targeted are cash, jewellery and high value/performance vehicles.
