Hello Rutland North,
I hope you’re well and enjoying the weather while it’s still here ☀️ ...it looks like it’s going to be wet next week, so make the most of it 😬 🌧️
Apologies for the 'radio silence' recently, as usual it’s been a really busy few days ❗ Here’s a quick sum up of some of the things, (not everything), that I have been up to 👇
An emergency response to the A1 for a vehicle that had left the carriageway, 🚑 East Midlands Ambulance Service attended and checked the people over, thankfully the occupants were okay but it could have been much worse‼️🚨 A factor in the collision was undoubtedly the sudden downpours of wet weather we had on Sunday and not driving to the conditions. With the weather forecast for rain next week, please ensure you take care, respect the road surface and always drive to the conditions 🌦️ 🚙 Road Safety is a local priority for Rutland and this incident happened on my beat area, part of addressing the priority is to attend RTCs, ensure people's safety, investigate the circumstances, educate drivers and deal with any offences 🚔
Supported response officer colleagues in attending an emergency domestic incident 🚨
Responded to a broken-down vehicle causing a dangerous obstruction to the highway on a fast road, with the help of Sergeant Palmer we managed to push it off the road to a safe location, (uphill I hasten to add!) 💪 😅
Dealt with another broken down vehicle causing a dangerous obstruction, which had run out of fuel... doh! 🤦🏻
Responded to an incident of males fighting, arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing 🔒 🚔
Attended a vehicle that the person reporting thought was suspicious and might be a cable theft in progress, fortunately it was all in order and just a call of good intent 👍
I've then been up to a fair amount more that's not suitable for posting here and as always, I’ve been very busy progressing my ongoing case load of investigations, speaking with and visiting victims and witnesses 🔍 🕵
I’ve also been lucky enough to attend a couple of community engagements on my beat, at Langham PFA Summer Fayre with PC McKinnon and Whissendine Village Fete with PC Hughes 🚔 🚒 Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service from Oakham were also at Whissendine, but we were clearly more popular 😉🧑🚒 On a more serious note, we positively engaged with tens if not hundreds of people over the two events 👨👩👧👦 families with their children enjoyed climbing in the Police van and the local community had opportunity to meet and speak with their local beat officers face to face about local issues 👮👮♀️ No calls for service were missed and we were on hand at any point to leave for any incident that required our attendance 🚓 As the local Neighbourhood Beat Team we’ll always try and show some presence at these type of events where we are invited and when we can, it’s a really worthwhile way for us to see lots of people in one place in a short time and we believe this is important. They were really well attended and organised, thank you for having us! 😄
P.S. What was lovely to hear was the multiple people who approached me at these events with supportive words around the posts we put out as local beat officers with what we're up to and the Neighbourhood Link newsletters we send out, thank you we really appreciate it. If you’re not signed up to Neighbourhood Link then please sign up to get emails from your local beat team on what we are up to in your area here 👉 https://www.neighbourhoodlink.co.uk/ 👈
Take care Rutland North,
PC 1049 Jake Spruce 👮🏻♂️
