Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear Members of South Leicester

Hello, hope you all are well. Just looking at this week’s crime stats; we have been hit by a series of Burglaries in the area of Eyres Monsell, Aylestone, Freeman ward (Saffron Est) and Knighton. Majority of these crimes are shed and garage breaks. Items stolen are items like power tools, garden equipment and bikes. Please consider buying a battery operated alarm for your shed as these crimes go un-noticed until you actually go to your shed to find your expensive items missing. We have also had a few Burglary dwelling where residents have left their rear sliding doors unlocked. Please could I remind members to ensure that their doors and windows are locked especially in the rear of the property as this is where most entry is made and most vulnerable. As we are in a busy few weeks with the School Holidays many of us would be going away during this time. Please ensure that you have taken precautions to secure your property. If you are leaving your vehicle in the driveway ensure that the keys are hidden and not left at the usual place hung conveniently near the main door. Also it’s good practice to place your keys in a signal blocker pouch to stop criminals trying to hack a signal from the keys to the vehicle.
Furthermore the school holidays are here. I have received some information from Leicester City Football Club of some sessions they are doing for the kids during the holidays. I think this is a good opportunity for your kids to show off their football skills. Please see attached leaflet so best to prebook your place to avoid disappointment. All contact details are on the leaflet.

Your South Leicester Team completed the Race for Life on Sunday 7th July. It was an amazing day for all of us. This was to help support work friends and family who are suffering with cancer.
