Burbage Police Update

Alert message sent 05/05/2020 10:06:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hello,

Hope you are well. Just an update for what's been going on in Burbage over the last week.

Following a report of drug use, officers attended and completed a search of a vehicle. Officers dealt with the driver at scene in the early hours of the morning in Burbage.
Also during patrols overnight this week, officers stop checked and seized a motor vehicle around the Burbage road area.

Despite COVID-19 we are also still working with Hinckley and Bosworth Council where Anti-social behaviour has been reported to us by residents. This includes targeted patrols and some community engagement where needed (at distance). We will continue to ensure we are still responding to residents concerns during this period and deal with the issues raised.

Remember to continue to report suspicious behaviour to us with as much information as possible such as vehicle registration plates, descriptions and times. You can also keep a log of incidents in your area, which helps us deal with your concerns.

I have also been delivering a few leaflets to help protect residents against fraud. Please see the attached leaflet for more information. Feel free to print it off and share with neighbours. Elderly and vulnerable can get targeted for these types of crime so remember and pass on the following,

STOP
Taking a moment to stop and think before parting with your money or information could keep you safe.
CHALLENGE
Could it be fake? It’s ok to reject, refuse or ignore any requests. Only criminals will try to rush or panic you.
PROTECT
Contact your bank immediately if you think you’ve fallen for a scam and report it to Action Fraud.

Also see www.actionfraud.police.uk or call 0300 123 2040

I have spoken to a few elderly residents this week who do not have the Internet and have asked how they can be kept informed on local crime. If you know anyone in your street that may benefit from any of the Emails we send out, please print off even if it is monthly and share. This would be much appreciated and may prevent a resident being a victim of crime.

Stay safe and Thank you for your continued support,

Darren.
