Burbage Crime Update

Vehicle crime

Following calls from a concerned member of the public at 0100 Hours regarding a suspicious car/individual police have responded to the area and following a co-ordinated search the vehicle was located and following enquiries was arrested for drugs offences.

Just a reminder that even during this difficult period we will remain out in your communities keeping you safe and whilst we might need to adapt how we do business we will still ensure we are able to respond to the reports we receive.

Abandoned vehicles

Again thanks to another resident, we were notified of an abandoned vehicle. We attended, completed checks and discovered it was stolen. As a result we recovered the vehicle and it will be reunited with its owner. The investigation is ongoing.

Remember you can check a vehicles registration, tax and MOT online through APPS and sites like https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla

Some APPS will state if the vehicle is stolen or not. They will also give you a description of the vehicle. If the description does not match the registration plate it is likely to be involved in crime.
