Advice for van owners

Alert message sent 15/01/2020 09:24:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

There are some simple prevention advice messages that Police would like to promote, including:
*Remove tools from vans over night
*Lock tools in a garage - If that’s not possible then think about how you keep your vehicle, ideally in a well lit area or backed onto another vehicle to make it difficult to get to the doors.
*Consider installing CCTV
*Consider robust tool safes within the vehicle
*Tool marking to assist with identifying your property should you become a victim of crime.
*For expensive tools, it would be worth considering buying a tool tracking device to make recovery easier.
*We want the public to consider their own circumstances, to prevent being a victim or what to do if they are affected
