Frosty mornings

Alert message sent 12/12/2019 16:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

It's getting colder, and I'm sure a lot of us have already been having to defrost our windscreens in the mornings.
Not everyone knows though that it is an offence to leave your car with the engine running on a public road.
What might concern you more though is that it makes your car the perfect target for opportunistic thieves, the engines running, the cars unlocked, keys in the ignition, easy pickings! It may also affect how likely your insurance is to pay out.
...
Keep your car secure, invest in windscreen covers or sprays etc, but no matter what, don't leave your car unattended with the engine running!
