Alert message sent 19/10/2019 09:35:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Good Morning members,

This is an urgent message to you in regards to recent burglaries across the whole area from Rushymead, Belgrave, Hamilton, Evington area. There has been a recent surge in burglaries where houses have been targeted for Asian jewellery! Houses have been targeted whilst the occupants are away and the main target is gold.
This message is to advise you to please become more security aware especially when leaving home and your property being unoccupied.
Some simple steps to protect your home to make it harder for thieves
  • Lock all windows with a key as if left unlocked they can gain access by forcing the window.
  • As it gets darker earlier please when leaving home leave a light on in a room or even a TV.
  • Most importantly if you have an alarm please set it even if your popping out for a short time. Most thieves are in a and out of a property in minutes.
Neighbourhood watch is an excellent tool to deter criminals from your area if you are interested in setting up a scheme in your area please get in touch and we will assist in getting one set up.

Stay Safe!

Regards

PC Neil Patel 729
