Theft from Van |

|
We have received a report of tools being stolen from a van in the Blackfordby area this week.
Tool theft can have a significant impact on tradespeople and businesses. We would like to remind vehicle owners to take the following precautions to help reduce the risk of becoming a victim:
✅ Remove tools from vehicles whenever possible, especially overnight. ✅ If tools must be left in a vehicle, store them out of sight and secure them within a lockable tool chest or van vault. ✅ Always lock vehicles and ensure windows and doors are fully secured. ✅ Park in a well-lit area, on a driveway, or in a secure location where possible. ✅ Consider fitting additional security measures such as alarms, immobilisers, CCTV, tracking devices, and upgraded van locks. ✅ Mark and register tools using property marking systems and keep a record of serial numbers and photographs. ✅ Be vigilant and report any suspicious activity around vehicles, particularly during late evening and overnight hours.
Anyone with information relating to vehicle or tool theft in the area is encouraged to report it via 101 or online at www.leics.police.uk. If a crime is in progress, always call 999.
Thank you for your continued support in helping keep our communities safe. | ||
