Halloween & Bonfire Night
With Halloween and Bonfire Night just around the corner, many people will be looking forward to dressing up, enjoying fireworks, and spending time with friends and family.
These events are a great opportunity to have fun, but we ask everyone to celebrate responsibly and be mindful of those around them.
Heading out for Halloween?
If you're planning to go trick-or-treating:
• Stay with friends or family and stick to well-lit areas. • Be respectful of households that choose not to take part and display a "No Trick or Treaters" notice. • Take extra care when crossing roads, especially in dark costumes that may be difficult for drivers to see. • Avoid behaviour that could cause nuisance or damage to property. Items such as eggs and flour may seem harmless but can have a significant impact on victims.
Planning to celebrate Bonfire Night?
• Wherever possible, attend an organised fireworks display. • If using fireworks at home, follow the manufacturer's safety instructions. • Keep children supervised and maintain a safe distance from fireworks and bonfires. • Remember that fireworks can be unsettling for pets, livestock, and vulnerable members of the community, so please be considerate.
Whether you're celebrating Halloween, Bonfire Night, or both, please look after one another, respect your neighbours, and help ensure everyone can enjoy the festivities safely. |
