Birstall, Wanlip & Broadnook - October Newsletter

Welcome to the monthly update for the residents and communities of the Birstall, Wanlip & Broadnook Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This Newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.

Road Safety

Officers are addressing concerns around speeding, careless driving and antisocial vehicle use across Birstall, Wanlip and Broadnook through targeted patrols, speed enforcement and partnership working. Engagement with residents, schools, community groups and parish councils continues to identify problem areas and promote safer driving. Local Officer Drop In's and ongoing patrols will provide opportunities for residents to raise concerns and receive updates.

Youth-Related ASB (Antisocial Behaviour)

High-visibility patrols and engagement with young people, local businesses and partners are being carried out to tackle youth-related ASB. Officers are reviewing intelligence and CCTV, working with local authority and youth services, and providing regular community engagement opportunities. This work will continue alongside enforcement where appropriate and ongoing reassurance patrols.

Residential Burglaries

Following a slight increase in residential burglaries, officers are conducting targeted patrols, developing intelligence and providing crime prevention advice. Residents are encouraged to secure doors and windows, use lighting, and report suspicious activity promptly. Officers continue to work with specialist departments, councils and partner agencies to prevent offences, reassure communities and identify offenders. Local Officer Drop In's and community events will also continue to support residents and address concerns.
