🚓 Riverside Beat Team Weekly Update It's been another busy week for the Riverside Beat Team, with officers taking positive action against offenders, progressing investigations, carrying out proactive patrols, and working with partners to keep our communities safe. ⚡ Op Pedalfast Riverside Beat officers joined colleagues from the City Centre Beat Team for Op Pedalfast across Leicester city centre. A male initially failed to stop for officers but was successfully detained following a coordinated effort. He was found riding an illegally modified e-bike fitted with a high-powered motor and no chain. Following a stop search, officers located cannabis and the male was arrested for possession of a Class B drug before being taken into custody. 🚔 Vehicles Seized PCSO Phil was conducting patrols around school leaving times when he stopped a rider on a red moped travelling the wrong way down a one-way street. Checks revealed the rider had been using the vehicle without insurance for several weeks, and the moped was seized. A short time later, he was alerted to a vehicle causing ongoing issues for local residents by blocking driveways. Checks revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen, and it was also seized. 🎓 Supporting Students at DMU PC Jess, the dedicated officer for De Montfort University, has been carrying out proactive patrols around campus as students return for the new academic year.
