Retail Theft Drug Use and Dealing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)
Retail Theft The beat team has continued to focus on tackling retail crime within the Shelthorpe area. During this period, officers have arrested two suspects in connection with thefts from local stores. Enquiries remain ongoing where appropriate, and officers continue to work closely with retailers to identify further offenders and build evidence where offences are reported. Regular high-visibility patrols have been maintained at key retail locations, with officers carrying out frequent visits and maintaining positive engagement with store management and staff. This ongoing contact has provided reassurance to businesses, supported the reporting of incidents, and helped gather valuable intelligence regarding repeat offenders and emerging trends. The beat team will continue to conduct targeted patrols and work alongside retailers to prevent further offences and improve community confidence.
Drug Use and Dealing Concerns relating to drug use and suspected drug dealing within the area remain a priority for the beat team. During this period, officers have continued to develop and submit intelligence relating to individuals, locations, and activity linked to suspected drug offences. This information is being used to build a clearer intelligence picture and support future enforcement opportunities where appropriate. Regular patrols have been carried out at identified hotspot locations and areas highlighted through community reports and police intelligence. These patrols have provided reassurance to residents, disrupted suspected criminal activity, and enabled officers to gather further information from members of the public. The team continues to work with partner agencies and utilise intelligence-led policing tactics to address drug-related concerns and safeguard vulnerable individuals who may be at risk of exploitation.
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Anti-social behaviour remains a concern for residents across the Shelthorpe area. The beat team continues to work closely with partner agencies to identify and support children who may be at risk of Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), with the aim of diverting them away from offending behaviour and preventing further incidents from occurring. Joint working with partners has focused on safeguarding, early intervention, and disrupting activity linked to those who may be exploiting young people. Information has been shared where appropriate to support a coordinated approach and reduce the impact of ASB on the local community. Officers have continued to carry out regular high-visibility patrols around local parks, shopping areas, and other identified hotspot locations. These patrols provide reassurance to residents and businesses, deter anti-social behaviour, and allow officers to engage positively with young people within the area. The team will continue to use a combination of engagement, problem-solving, and enforcement to address ASB and improve community confidence
