🚔 Riverside Beat Team Weekly Round-Up 🚔
It's been another busy week for your Riverside Beat Team, working hard to keep our communities safe, support victims, and tackle crime across the area.
✅ Community Engagement - PCSOs Phil, Jas and Haf have been out meeting residents and engaging with the St Andrews Play Association, listening to local concerns and working with the community to address neighbourhood issues.
🚲 Operation Pedalfast - Riverside officers have been supporting neighbouring beat teams as part of Operation Pedalfast, removing illegal bikes and e-scooters from our streets and helping to improve road safety for everyone.
🎓 Freshers Preparations at DMU - With Freshers' season just around the corner, PC Jess has been working closely with De Montfort University security and staff to help ensure students can enjoy a safe start to the academic year.
🛍️ Shoplifter Arrested - PC Jess, PC Callum and PC Meryn assisted in the arrest of a prolific and well-known shoplifting suspect. Enquiries remain ongoing. 👉 If you don't pay, we'll take you away!
⚖️ Protecting Vulnerable Victims - PC Callum and PC Meryn arrested a female responsible for multiple offences against a vulnerable male within our beat area. The victim has been safeguarded and the suspect has since been sent to court.
🤝 Tackling Bullying - PCSO Phil has been dealing with reports of bullying between children within the community. Suspects have been identified and spoken to, and work continues with partner agencies to ensure the appropriate support and intervention is in place.
👮 High-Visibility Patrols - Our officers have continued conducting high-visibility patrols in hotspot locations across Riverside, carrying out numerous stop checks and providing reassurance to local residents and businesses.
🏪 Supporting Local Businesses - Local PCSOs have been visiting businesses affected by shoplifting incidents. Suspects have been identified and will be spoken to as part of our ongoing efforts to reduce retail crime.
📹 CCTV Enquiries - PCSO V and PCSO Hafsa have been reviewing CCTV and carrying out enquiries to help progress several ongoing investigations.
🔒 Cycle Theft Prevention - PC Jess has been carrying out enquiries into the recent increase in cycle thefts across the beat area. Suspects have been identified and arrest attempts are ongoing.
