⚠️ Burglary Alert – Rothley & Quorn

The NL56 Beat Team would like to make residents aware of burglary offences reported in Rothley and Quorn.

Recent incidents have included car key burglaries, where offenders are targeting vehicles by gaining entry to homes and stealing vehicle keys. In some cases, offenders have used a method known as a lock snap, where the lock on a front door is forced and removed, allowing access to the property. Once inside, offenders search for car keys before stealing the vehicle.

We are actively investigating these incidents and would ask residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Crime Prevention Advice

✅ Ensure all doors and windows are locked, even when at home.

✅ Consider upgrading to anti-snap door locks if your property has a euro-cylinder lock.

✅ Keep vehicle keys away from doors, windows and letterboxes, preferably in a secure location upstairs.

✅ Use signal-blocking pouches for keyless vehicle fobs to prevent electronic theft.

✅ Where possible, park vehicles in a garage or well-lit area and utilise any steering locks or additional security devices.

✅ Ensure CCTV systems, doorbell cameras and security lighting are working correctly.

✅ Report any suspicious individuals, vehicles or behaviour in your neighbourhood.
