Westcotes Neighbourhood Policing Team – Weekly Update 

We’ve had another busy week across Westcotes, with our officers and PCSOs carrying out a range of proactive and community-focused work.

Supporting investigations

We have assisted with CCTV enquiries relating to an incident in the West Midlands. These enquiries form an important part of ongoing investigations and help us identify individuals and gather evidence.

Arrest attempts

Our team has carried out numerous arrest attempts throughout the week, continuing to pursue individuals wanted in connection with offences. We will continue to take positive action where appropriate to locate those wanted and bring them before the courts.

Tackling cuckooing and protecting vulnerable people

We have supported our Neighbourhood Policing colleagues with incidents involving cuckooing, where vulnerable people can be targeted and exploited by individuals using their homes for criminal activity. Working alongside partner agencies is an important part of safeguarding those at risk and ensuring concerns are addressed.

Supporting vulnerable residents with housing

Officers attended alongside a Housing Officer to assist a vulnerable person with their housing situation. This is an example of how we work with partner agencies to help safeguard vulnerable members of our community and ensure they receive the appropriate support.

Scene preservation

Our PCSOs have also assisted officers with scene preservation. Protecting and maintaining scenes is an important part of the investigative process and can help ensure potential evidence is not compromised.

E-bike advice

Our PCSOs have been providing advice to members of the community regarding e-bikes, including helping people understand the requirements around their use and encouraging safe and responsible riding.

Drugs enforcement

A male was arrested following the seizure of a large quantity of drugs. Following the appropriate processes, the seized drugs were subsequently destroyed. This forms part of our ongoing work to tackle the supply and use of controlled drugs and the wider harm they can cause within our communities.

We will continue to work proactively across Westcotes, responding to concerns raised by residents, supporting vulnerable people, tackling criminality and working closely with our partner agencies.
