It has been another busy week for Riverside officers, working with partners and the community.

✅ Operation Pedalfast

Riverside officers joined the Central Beat Team for Operation Pedalfast, targeting the illegal use of e-bikes and e-scooters in Leicester city centre. Several illegal vehicles were seized, helping to improve safety for residents, workers and visitors.

Officers also worked alongside the Home Office to carry out immigration status checks where appropriate.

✅ Proactive City Centre Patrols

Riverside and City Centre Beat officers conducted high-visibility patrols following intelligence regarding a planned gathering in the city centre.

With previous gatherings linked to anti-social behaviour, officers engaged with young people and the wider community, helping to prevent issues and reassure the public.

✅ Narborough Road Reassurance Patrols

PCSO's Hafsa, Jas and V carried out reassurance visits and high-visibility patrols in the Narborough Road area following a recent incident, engaging with residents and businesses to provide support and maintain a visible presence.

✅ Supporting Regional Policing Teams

PC Callum and PC Jess assisted colleagues from a regional policing team with searches at several addresses following the arrest of a suspect as part of an ongoing investigation.

✅ Partnership Working

PC Fabian met with the Security Management Team at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) to discuss persons of concern and review procedures to strengthen the evidential process, making it easier for victims and witnesses to provide statements to police.

PC Merryn met with Platform Housing to discuss safeguarding concerns and address any emerging issues affecting tenants.

✅ Tackling Cycle Theft

PC Jess has been working closely with De Montfort University (DMU) following reports of bicycle thefts on campus. Two suspects have been identified and enquiries are ongoing to locate and arrest those responsible.

✅ Safeguarding Vulnerable People

PC Callum and PC Merryn have been supporting a vulnerable member of the community, working closely with the individual, their family and partner agencies to reduce the risk of them becoming a victim of crime in the future.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Youth & Student Engagement

PCSO Phil attended the SAPA Play Association, engaging with local children and families to build positive relationships and promote neighbourhood policing.

PCSOs Hafsa and V met with staff from Primus Edge and Hosts Student Accommodation to discuss partnership working and preparations for the new university term. Discussions focused on student welfare, community safety, crime prevention and supporting students as they settle into life in Leicester.
