Dear Residents, We wanted to provide a brief update on some of the work your Beaumont Leys Beat Team has been carrying out in response to concerns raised by local residents, businesses and partner agencies. Over recent weeks, officers and PCSOs have been conducting targeted patrols, engaging with the community and working alongside partners to address issues affecting the area. Key ActivitiesBeaumont Shopping Centre- Conducted high-visibility patrols alongside the Safer Streets Team in response to reports of anti-social behaviour, thefts and disorder.
- Worked with retailers, security staff and partner agencies to improve reporting and responses to incidents.
- Issued ASB warnings, banning letters and referrals to youth services for those identified as causing problems.
- Arrested individuals linked to thefts, disorder and criminal damage, and seized an e-scooter being ridden inside the shopping centre.
Anti-Social Behaviour and Parking Concerns- Responded to complaints about dangerous and inconsiderate parking, particularly around Bishopdale Road/Beaumont Walk.
- Carried out reassurance patrols, gathered intelligence and engaged with local residents and park users.
- Used warning letters, parental visits and other interventions to address youth-related ASB.
Community Safeguarding- Continued work around reports of vulnerable residents being targeted and concerns relating to suspected cuckooing and drug-related activity.
- Worked with partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable people and reduce repeat offending.
Off-Road Bikes and Patrols- Maintained patrols in areas where residents have reported nuisance motorbikes and quad bikes, including parks and open spaces
The beat team has also assisted with a number of wider enquiries on the greater area of West Leicester.
