Residents raise concerns about parcel thefts

Following a community engagement yesterday a number of our residents are raising concerns about parcel thefts, particularly in flat or apartment blocks.

With the next few months getting busy with many religious festivals approaching I thought I would take the opportunity to give some advice.

Many, if not all, online retail outlets allow you to add delivery instructions including a safe place. If your residence has a parcel box or parcel room these are the best places however delivery drivers wont automatically deliver to them unless advised.

Another alternative is that many delivery services offer a locker or local pick up whereby it is delivered to a secure locker, of your choosing, close to your address or to a local newsagents, supermarket or post office. Whereby you can pick it up at the earliest convenience.

As a team we have been working with local landlords at locations that have been raised to us. We have been advising about parcels not being left in view of front doors, ensuring the front doors are closing properly and encouraging them to fit secure parcel boxes for the residents to have access to.
