Safer Roads Team in Donington |

Last night, the #ValleyBeatTeam was out alongside the Safer Roads Team, which includes specially trained Traffic Special Constables.
The operation was aimed at deterring and disrupting anti-social driving and riding in the village following a significant number of concerns raised by local residents.
I'm pleased to say the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Since the operation, I've received numerous emails from residents telling me how much of a difference it made, with some saying it was the first peaceful night's sleep they've had in a long time.
While I appreciate that not everyone will agree with us tackling this, I'd like to remind people that, as a PCSO, my role is to tackle issues that affect the day-to-day quality of life within our communities. Vehicle-related anti-social behaviour is very much part of that remit, and I am committed to addressing the concerns that residents bring to us along side many other issues such as bike theft.
The results speak for themselves. Local people, including families with young children, were able to enjoy a quieter evening without a constant stream of vehicles racing through the village late into the night.
We will continue to work with our partners to tackle this issue, ensure those responsible are held accountable, and make our roads safer for everyone. Mike 6500
