Castle Donington Update

Following on from Inspector Burge's vlog earlier today, the #ValleyBeatTeam have been out this afternoon and seized the bike pictured.

This follows footage and reports of the rider allegedly riding recklessly and dangerously in the Hill Top area of Castle Donington.

Unfortunately for the rider, he has also lost his licence as a result of his actions.

As Inspector Burge alluded to earlier, we will not stop, and we will seize vehicles when offences are being committed. Even if officers are not present at the time, we will follow up all available evidence. If your actions are captured on dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage, you should expect a knock at the door.

In addition to this seizure, the team also issued four warnings to other riders in the area.

Some may think this is harsh or that we are simply targeting motorists. If that's your view, I ask you to take a moment and consider how it must feel to receive a knock at the door informing you that a loved one has been killed or seriously injured on our roads.

I also ask you to consider the impact on the emergency services who attend these incidents and deal with the devastating consequences left behind.

This is about more than policing. This is about preventing tragedy, protecting our communities, and keeping people alive.
