🚓💙 Braunstone & Rowley Fields Beat Update 💙🚓

It's been another busy shift for your local neighbourhood team!

The shift started with PCSOs Julie and Beth, alongside PC Chelsea, assisting Traffic colleagues in the search for two suspects riding a stolen motorbike on Braunstone Park. Following a coordinated search involving multiple departments, the suspects, who failed to stop for police, were quickly located, detained and arrested. 👮‍♂️🚔👏

The stolen motorbike was successfully recovered, with valuable support from the 🚁 Drone Team, whose assistance helped officers locate the vehicle quickly and safely.

Following this, PCSOs Beth and Julie continued with Operation Habitual patrols and covered the West Area ASB Car.

🔵 What is Op Habitual? Operation Habitual focuses on identifying and disrupting individuals who regularly cause anti-social behaviour, commit offences, or have a negative impact on our communities. Through high-visibility patrols, engagement with residents, intelligence gathering and targeted activity, we aim to make Braunstone and Rowley Fields safer places to live, work and visit. 👣🚓

Whilst carrying out patrols, officers witnessed dangerous driving from an individual within the area. As a result, a Section 59 warning has been issued. 🚗⚠️

🔵 What is a Section 59? A Section 59 warning can be issued when a vehicle is being driven in a manner that causes alarm, distress or annoyance, or is being driven carelessly or inconsiderately. If the driver or vehicle is involved in a similar incident again within 12 months, police have the power to seize the vehicle. So if you've received a warning, consider it a clear reminder to drive responsibly. 🚔📮

The team also attended a concern for safety incident and assisted colleagues from the City Beat Team by locating a vehicle involved in a fail-to-stop road traffic collision. Following enquiries, the driver was arrested for being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle. 🍺🚔

Meanwhile, PC Chelsea and PC Ryan have been carrying out cuckooing visits, making arrest attempts, and responding to a neighbour dispute.

Cuckooing is when criminals take over the home of a vulnerable person in order to carry out criminal activity, often involving drug dealing, exploitation or storing stolen property. These visits help us safeguard vulnerable residents, gather intelligence and disrupt those seeking to exploit members of our community. If you suspect cuckooing is taking place, please report it. 💙
