Westcotes Beat Team – Weekly Neighbourhood Update
This week, your Westcotes Beat Team has continued to work proactively to tackle crime, engage with the community and provide reassurance across the area.
We held a Beat Surgery at Bede Park, where officers spoke with local residents, provided neighbourhood policing updates, and offered crime prevention advice on topics including home security, personal safety and how to report concerns. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come and speak with us.
Officers also assisted with scene preservations in Leicester city centre, helping to secure scenes.
We hosted another Beat Surgery at Starbucks on Upperton Road, giving members of the public the opportunity to discuss local issues, raise concerns and receive advice from their local neighbourhood officers.
With schools finishing for the summer, officers carried out high-visibility patrols in Leicester city centre to provide reassurance, deter anti-social behaviour and ensure young people and visitors could enjoy the city safely.
As part of our ongoing proactive work to tackle drug-related crime, officers seized controlled drugs during patrols. We also conducted proactive stop searches in Bede Park, resulting in further drugs being seized and removed from our community. These patrols will continue as we target those involved in criminal activity and respond to information provided by the public.
We would like to thank everyone who continues to engage with us and report concerns. Your information plays a vital role in helping us identify issues, target offenders and keep Westcotes a safe place to live, work and visit.
If you have concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour in your area, please continue to report them via the Leicestershire Police website, by calling 101, or always dial 999 in an emergency.
