Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of a theft of a motorbike from Lucas Road sometime between 14:30 on the 9th and 05:30 on the 10th (likely late night/early morning). The motorbike is a KTM Duke in Silver. If you have any CCTV in the area or the surrounding area, please get in touch if you have anything of interest. 26000406038
Report of 3 youths in balaclavas on Brookside at 06:30 on the 12th. Police responded and found one individual, who was stopped and searched.
Since our last update on the 6th, we have received 37 calls to Police, 9 were emergency and 4 were priority.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We have been spending time working with partner agencies addressing neighbour disputes, Cannabis issues and youth related anti-social behaviour. This work often provides resolutions to offences where the criminal threshold is not met and can be dealt with at a lower level. Incidents that impact on peoples lives are not always criminal, but can escalate, so early intervention is beneficial. Actions such as tenancy warning letters, Mediation and community protection notices can be issued if problems persist.
Patrols include the Sapcote road area, Brookside and we continue to pop by the local parks as we are out and about.
We are also completing work around the recent concerns of youths in balaclavas and suspicious activity overnight and during the early hours of the morning. If you have any information, please get in touch. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
We often get keys and mobile phones handed in to either the Parish or Police office. Most people will try to reunite these types of items upon finding them, we will also make efforts. Please consider putting a tag on your keys with a phone number in case you lose them, please also consider putting an alternative phone number on the back or in the case of your mobile phone. Losing either of these items can cause a lot of unnecessary stress and expense. Please consider the above options which could result in you been reunited with your items quickly.
I will be at the Three pots post office tomorrow (14/07/2026) for our monthly beat surgery, from around 15:00-16:30 if you want a chat or need any support with crime reduction.
Motorbike thefts are a concern at the moment, whilst we have had limited bikes taken, it does appear there are criminals looking about. Please ensure you have done everything possible to lock, secure and track your bike. Not only is it the bike bike security, but also consider garage and shed security which will give suspects limited time and opportunities.
Thank you and take care.
