The message in this campaign is simple but vital: Don’t Drink and DriveDrink driving can have devastating consequences — not only for the person behind the wheel, but also for passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, families, emergency services, and innocent members of the public. One decision can change many lives. ![]() Why This Matters to Our CommunityEvery road user deserves to get home safely. When someone chooses to drive after drinking alcohol, they put everyone around them at risk. Alcohol can affect: Even if someone feels capable of driving, alcohol can still seriously reduce their ability to control a vehicle safely. Plan Before You Go OutIf alcohol may be involved, please make a plan before leaving home: A safe plan made early can prevent a serious incident later. Look Out for Friends, Family and NeighboursIf someone is considering driving after drinking, please speak up. A difficult conversation could save lives. You can help by: Preventing drink driving is a community effort.
Report ConcernsIf someone is driving under the influence and there is an immediate danger, call 999. If you have information about someone who regularly drinks and drives, report it through 101 or your local police online reporting service.
