Celebrating Leicester Rathayatra 2026.

Leicester Rathayatra 2026 brought devotion, music and celebration to the heart of the city, attracting thousands of visitors for a vibrant day of cultural festivities.

The event began in Leicester city centre, with a colourful procession travelling along Leicester's Golden Mile before arriving at Cossington Park. Attendees enjoyed a wide range of family-friendly activities throughout the afternoon, including live cultural performances, mantra meditation and children's entertainment.

Officers from the Belgrave Neighbourhood Policing Team were present throughout the event, engaging with members of the community, providing crime prevention and safety advice, and helping to ensure the celebrations remained safe and welcoming for everyone.

Leicestershire Police are pleased to report that the event concluded with no reported incidents. This positive outcome reflects the strong community spirit shown throughout the day, as well as the excellent partnership between event organisers, volunteers, attendees and local agencies.
