Rural South

Road Safety is one of the Rural South's 3 main beat priorities, along with Drugs and Rural Thefts. We have seen 4 RTCs on the Rural South's roads this afternoon which officers have attended. I would ask drivers to please drive to the speed limit and the really hot weather conditions and allow that little extra time for your journey.

In addition, thanks to all the drivers who found an alternative route while the Brooksby level crossing was stuck down for a couple of hours. I appreciate it was frustrating to have to turn round, especially while it's so hot, but your safety was my main priority until engineers repaired the crossing barriers and the road was reopened.
