Priority 1 To support City Centre businesses with retail crime and tackle perpetrators
YOU SAID: -Retail crime effects shopping areas of the City Centre and you would like to see action to tackle this and support our retailers.
*JUNE UPDATE* -In the last 30 days we have identified and charged suspects for 30 retail theft offences and a further 9 have been issued with out of court disposals. -Our team have continued to conduct regular high visibility patrols of key locations including Highcross, Haymarket, High Street and Gallowtree Gate. -We have secured another criminal behaviour order against a prolific offender and a further 2 have been applied for to help reduce and prevent crime in the City Centre. -Our PCSO's have been conducting engagement events in retails areas such as John Lewis and our shopping centres. -PC Dean has held meeting with retail managers to help prevent and deter ASB in there retail spaces.
Priority 2 To tackle anti-social behaviour in the area of Clock Tower, East Gates, Cheapside and Churchgate
YOU SAID: -You want to feel safe coming to the City Centre and want to enjoy the area of Clock Tower, East Gates, Cheapside and Churchgate.
*JUNE UPDATE* -We have secured a court order against a prolific offender who casing ASB in this area. This now prevent them from being in the location. -Our PCSO's have held engagement events at the Clock Tower. -We have continued to deploy Op Pedalfast in this area to tackle the ASB caused by nuisance electric vehicles with 833 now seized. -From conducting community surveys the public have told us they have seen a significant reduction in crime and ASB in this area.
Priority 3 To tackle anti-social behaviour in the area of Granby Street, Belvior Street and Town Hall Square
YOU SAID: -You want to enjoy the Town Hall Square, Granby Street, Belvior and surrounding area but ASB caused by people and vehicles prevents this.
*JUNE UPDATE* -Robust policing has been conducted in the area of Town Hall Square resulting in an increase of stop searches, arrests, positive disposals and drugs seized. -3 suspects have been charged with offences. -3 suspects have been given bail conditions preventing them from being in the locality. -4 suspects have been given out of court disposals. -2 further suspects have been started on the incremental approach to tackle ASB. -We have continued to deploy Op Pedalfast in this area to tackle the ASB caused by nuisance electric vehicles with 833 now seized. -We have held numerous events in this area including Bike Register to promote cycle safety and show a visible presence
