I am sorry I couldn’t make it to the Parish Council this evening I have been assisting with some police priorities out of my control. I did however gather an update to be delivered at the Parish Council meeting this evening so I thought I would send to you all instead. We're still seeing shop thefts being a problem in the area however we've been granted by the court CBOs for some of our prolific shop lifters so this should reduce the shop theft rate going forward. (CBO Information posted at the bottom, if you'd like to know what they are). Statistically, thefts have gone down since last time I visited the Parish Council, too which is a good step in the right direction!Doing patrols down Manor Road and St Marys avenue we couldn’t detect any drug dealing but still please report what you see as it makes a different and helps us build our intelligence logs.Criminal damage reports across the 45 beats have also gone down by 59% since last month. Our current Beat Priorities: HGVs - HGVs ignoring the weight restriction and using roads in Ellistown, Ibstock and Heather when they are not permitted to do so. Speeding - Vehicles travelling at an excessive speed on Grange Road in Hugglescote, Leicester Road in Whitwick, Thornborough Road in Whitwick and Loughborough Road in Thringstone. ASB - Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) on the parks through the use of off road motorbikes in Greenhill, ASB at some of the local shops in Greenhill and on some of the residential streets in Agar Nook and Greenhill.Next month we will be looking at new beat priority objectives so if you're having issues in the area, please let us know. If you able to do surveys too on Neighbourhood Link that will help us know more about the issues affecting you, in your areas. CBO Information: More information about a CBO: A Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) is a court order made against an individual who has been convicted of a criminal offence. Its purpose is to prevent further anti-social or criminal behaviour. It can include: - Prohibitions (things the person must not do, e.g. enter a certain area, contact certain people)
- Positive requirements (things the person must do, e.g. attend drug treatment, anger management)
How long does a CBO last? For adults (18+):- Minimum: 2 years
- Maximum: Indefinite (no fixed end date)
For under 18s:- Minimum: 1 year
- Maximum: typically up to 3 years
Key points A CBO is issued on conviction, not as a standalone civil order.Breach of a CBO is a criminal offence, which can lead to: - Arrest
- Further prosecution
