🚨 Safety Message for Parents & Guardians 🚨

We have recently had a report of children and young people gaining access to an empty and derelict building on the Forest Beat.

Although this may seem fun and we recognise that kids will be kids, these locations can be extremely dangerous. 

Risks include: 

⚠️ Unsafe floors and staircases
⚠️ Falling debris or unstable structures
⚠️ Broken glass, needles, or hazardous materials
⚠️ Fire risk and the possibility of becoming trapped

Please be reassured that regular patrols are being completed across the Forest Beat to monitor these locations and ensure the risk remains low. Where concerns are identified, appropriate action is taken to reduce further risk.

We are asking parents and carers to speak with children about the dangers and remind them that entering these properties can put them at serious risk of injury.

👮 If you see children inside or attempting to enter a derelict building and believe there is an immediate risk, please contact us straight away.
