NL64 Shepshed Loughborough West, Beat Newsletter April 2026
Welcome to our monthly update for the residents and communities of the NL64 Shepshed Loughborough West Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.
Feedback from Retailers is that shop thefts continue to be a persistent concern across the beat area.
Feedback from the community is that drug dealing activity across the beat continues to be a concern.
Feedback from the community shows that Anti-social behaviour involving off-road motorcycles continues to be a concern.
Over the last month, the beat team has been actively engaging with local retailers across the area, carrying out regular visits and high‑visibility patrols to provide reassurance for both staff and customers. Beat surgeries have also been held within stores, giving the local community and business owners the opportunity to speak directly with officers and raise any concerns. The team has further supported colleagues by helping to secure CCTV footage relating to reported thefts. As a result of this joint working, three individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with thefts at Tesco and B&M.
Over the past month, the local beat team has been carrying out a range of activity to tackle drug dealing in the area. PCSOs have been engaging with residents, carrying out leaflet drops, and listening to community concerns while developing intelligence around suspected drug activity. Officers have also visited addresses that are subject to partial closure orders to ensure that the conditions of those orders are being followed. As part of this work, warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act were carried out at addresses in Gallico Close, Charteriss Close and Hanover Court. This resulted in three individuals being arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. We will continue to work proactively with partners and the community to address drug‑related concerns and keep the area safe.
The team have been carrying out high‑visibility patrols in areas where motorbikes have been reported as causing anti‑social behaviour. We have also been speaking with local residents who have raised concerns about illegal riding, to better understand the issue and identify specific locations. As part of this work, we are establishing where CCTV may be available that could help identify those responsible. We will continue to patrol the area and work with the community to address concerns and improve safety.
