Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We will be at the Burbage Infants fair this Saturday 2nd of May, from around 12:00-16:00. We will have a selection of crime reduction items, Jackie from Neighbourhood watch will also be there, so pop along and say hello. It is usually a fun community day so hopefully the sun stays out.
We have visited Hastings High School to deliver assemblies to years 7,8 and 9 regarding anti-social behaviour. We ensured that the children understood what ASB is, the impact on residents, and the consequences of being involved in it.
We have patrolled Sketchley Primary School during school hours to challenge bad parking. Following our successful funding application, we were able to purchase road safety items for the local area. We have installed further signage around Rugby Road/Sketchley Road and the junction opposite Azalea Drive. This work is part of the overall work we do to try and improve road safety in the area. We will visit Burbage inf/Jnr’s and Hastings over the coming days and have further plans for activities later in the year.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Message from residents to raise awareness. EV Charger access and Your storage is full. “Just for info, because this is a new one to me - I’ve received several automated emails from my EV charger company, because someone is trying to remotely access my EV charger. The emails are asking me to “approve” to give them access – clearly because I have no idea who this person is I haven’t given access. I’d say, which the auto-email also says that “if you don’t know this person then do not approve”. POD-point did say so long as I don’t click approve there is no way they can gain access to my EV charger. I guess with increasing use of smart devices of all kinds, from EV chargers, to Hive heating, CCTV and alarms this sort of “hacking” risk will increase and we’ll need to keep our vigilance.”
Concerns also sent in regarding spam emails claiming that their storage is full, requesting payments for iCloud. Please do not reply to these types of emails and block them. Most of these types of emails should already get filtered by your provider but sometimes they will sneak through to your inbox.
You may or may not have received a request to complete the confidence survey for April. We would really appreciate if you could complete this survey as the more people that complete it, the better picture we get of your thoughts. Please use the link below. This survey closes in a few days so any feedback you can give is appreciated, thank you very much if you have already done so. https://survey.neighbourhoodlink.co.uk/Survey/GUID/f1854fdd-2a41-458d-9c88-50f293524230
Thank you and take care.
