Westcotes Neighbourhood Link Weekly Update
Your local neighbourhood policing team has been working proactively across Westcotes this week to prevent crime, safeguard vulnerable individuals, and respond to community concerns. Here’s a more detailed overview of our activity:
RTC on the beat – Officers attended a road traffic collision, ensuring the immediate safety of those involved and managing the scene to minimise disruption. Enquiries have been carried out and appropriate action taken following the incident.
Engagement with local retailers – We’ve carried out reassurance visits to a number of local businesses, discussing issues such as shoplifting, anti-social behaviour, and general safety concerns. These conversations help shape our patrol plans and ensure we’re responding directly to what matters most to the community.
PWITS activity – Officers have continued to target individuals suspected of involvement in possession with intent to supply offences. This includes intelligence gathering, stop searches, and follow-up enquiries to disrupt supply chains and reduce the impact of drugs in the area.
Cannabis grow disruption – We have identified and taken action against illegal cannabis cultivation. This not only disrupts organised criminal activity but also reduces associated risks such as fire hazards, exploitation, and wider community harm. Investigations remain ongoing.
Disrupting drug dealing – Proactive, intelligence-led patrols have been carried out in key locations, resulting in disruption of suspected drug activity. We will continue to act on information provided and take robust action where offences are identified.
Hotspot patrols – High-visibility patrols have been conducted in areas identified through crime data and community feedback. These patrols aim to deter offending, provide reassurance, and allow officers to engage directly with residents.
Working with neighbouring forces to safeguard victims in relation to cross border offences ensuring that force boundaries don’t prevent us from disrupting criminality and safeguarding victims
We encourage residents and businesses to continue reporting concerns or sharing information with us. Your support is vital in helping us keep Westcotes a safe place to live, work, and visit.
Thank You
Westcotes Team
