✅ Beat 46 – New Priority Update We’ve reviewed the feedback you’ve given us about what matters most in Ashby, Packington, Normanton le Heath and Ravenstone, and we’ve updated our Beat Priorities to focus on the issues affecting you right now. Here’s what we’ll be working on over the coming months: 🚗 1. Parking Issues / Obstructive Vehicles – Lower Packington Road, Ashby You said: There are ongoing problems with vehicles causing obstructions, particularly linked to supporters attending a local sporting venue. What we are doing: ✅ Working closely with the venue to agree shared responsibilities to reduce the impact on residents. ✅ Supporting them with clearer messaging for attendees and promoting alternative parking options. ✅ Attending the area during peak times to deter unsafe or obstructive parking. ✅ Issuing enforcement where appropriate and legally justified. ✅ Liaising with Leicestershire County Council, Ashby Town Council, and Highways to explore longer term measures. 🚘 2. Car Cruise Activity – A511 Ashby Bypass & Surrounding Areas You said: Dangerous and antisocial driving linked to car cruisers continues to cause concern. What we are doing: ✅ Continuing regular patrols and responding to reports of erratic or dangerous driving. ✅ Identifying and dealing with those involved using appropriate enforcement options. ✅ Working with North West Leicestershire District Council on a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) to create long term deterrents and increase enforcement powers. ✅ Monitoring hotspot locations and responding promptly to new reports. 🛍️ 3. Anti Social Behaviour – Flagstaff Services, Ashby You said: There have been repeated issues of ASB around the Flagstaff retail area, especially near food premises. What we are doing: ✅ Working with retailers to identify peak times and problem areas. ✅ Providing reassurance patrols and increasing visibility in the outer retail zone. ✅ Identifying individuals responsible and taking appropriate action, including through the ASB incremental approach. ✅ Encouraging staff, visitors and the public to report any ASB so we can address it quickly.
