NL63 Monthly Newsletter
Welcome to my monthly update for the residents and communities of the NL63 Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.

Retail theft Within the last month, two Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) have been successfully issued by the court, preventing repeat offenders from entering specific stores. These orders provide officers with an immediate power of arrest if the individual breaches any of the conditions, including entering prohibited stores or engaging in further criminal conduct. A breach of a CBO is a criminal offence, allowing offenders to be charged and put before the court, where they may face penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment depending on the seriousness and frequency of the breach. This outcome was achieved through strong joint working between Response colleagues and the beat team, who supported investigations and collated key information needed for the applications. Regular patrols have continued at the affected locations, and we remain in close partnership with store staff to deter offending, gather intelligence, and respond promptly to incidents.
Drug use/dealing There has been an increase in reports relating to drug use and suspected drug dealing in the area. Work is ongoing to gather intelligence to support proactive warrant applications, ensuring that any enforcement activity is targeted and evidence‑led. Regular patrols are being carried out in the locations of concern, allowing officers to monitor activity, engage with the community, and identify individuals involved. We continue to encourage the public and partners to report suspicious behaviour so that information can be developed and acted upon effectively.
ASB ASB continues to be raised as a concern, particularly relating to the gathering of cars on the Tesco car park. A meeting has been held with CBC and Tesco management to develop a longer‑term solution, and Tesco are exploring the use of deterrents to prevent access to the car park after midnight. Section 59 signs are being placed at the location, giving officers the power to take action against vehicles believed to be causing anti‑social behaviour. The mobile camera remains in place to support monitoring and evidence gathering. In addition, reports of off‑road motorbikes on the beat have increased, and officers are making ongoing efforts to identify the individuals responsible so appropriate enforcement action can be taken.
