Welcome to my monthly update for the residents and communities of the NL64 Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.
PC 196 Jo Nock
Priority 1—Anti-Social Behaviour—Off-Road bikes in Shepshed Priority 2—Drug Dealing Priority 3—Retail theft
Priority 1—Anti-Social Behaviour—Off-Road bikes in Shepshed A local family was recently spoken to after their child was seen using a mini motor. Appropriate advice and guidance were provided to ensure safe and responsible use. Our neighbourhood team continues regular patrols around the Oakley Road park area. We encourage residents to keep reporting any sightings of riders using off‑road bikes so that we can respond promptly.
Priority 2—Drug Dealing A local male was stopped by officers at Oakley Road Park in Shepshed and found to be in possession of cannabis. Appropriate action was taken in line with current legislation and policing policy. Following the discovery of several suspected county lines dealers at an address in Loughborough, officers issued the resident with a Section 8 warning notice of the Misuse of Drugs Act. This notice is designed to safeguard the occupant and prevent their property from being exploited for drug‑related activity.
Priority 3—Retail theft A known shoplifter from Loughborough has been convicted following a theft from the B&M store in Shepshed. The offender was also found guilty of a number of additional offences. They have been sentenced to eight weeks in prison, reflecting the repeated nature of their offending.

NEWS: A vehicle in Shepshed was seized under DVLA powers after officers identified it as having no valid vehicle tax. The car had been driven and later found parked on a public road in breach of legal requirements. As a result, it was removed to prevent further offences.
Police Visit Hathern C of E Primary School The beat team visited the Foundation class at Hathern C of E Primary School to take part in their topic, “People Who Help Us.” The children enjoyed learning about the role of the police, asking questions, and exploring the police car. PC 196 Jo was delighted to engage with the pupils, who showed great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the visit.
