South Leicester Police – Clear Hold Build/Safer Saffron.

Dear South Leicester Resident.

The clear, hold, build (CHB) initiative known locally as Safer Saffron has now moved into the build phase. As published in the previous months newsletter the government lead campaign aimed at making the local community safer has so far achieved some staggering results. Several drug lines have been detected and disbanded, large amounts of cash seized as well as closure orders put in place at addresses involved in repeat anti-social behaviour (ASB). 

As the campaign now moves into the build phase, PC Jade and I have recently met with the members of the Leicester City Councils community safety team, Joanne Taylor and Amber Atterbury with the aim of keeping key areas in the community safe and ensuring they remain strong after the initial phases work.

Areas such as open spaces and hotspot locations for crime and ASB have been visited to see how a partnership approach and a spread of knowledge can help keep the community a nicer and safer place to live and work.
