Burbage Police Weekly Update. Stolen Nisan Navara, Rogue Traders And Thank You. |
||
|
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of rogue traders on Forresters road on Wednesday the 11th of March. Concern was due to overcharging for work to a property such as cleaning gutters and pipes. Please look out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours if you see and cold callers in the area. Please contact the bank immediately if you have fallen victim to these types of scams. Unfortunately, where prices are agreed, these issues will typically become civil issues rather than criminal and the best prevention is to not engage to begin with. Please also consider banking protocols if you have elderly or vulnerable relatives as this may prevent or at least challenge these types of payments from going through. Report of a theft of a Nissan Navara in grey from Slate drive at 02:58 on the morning of Monday 16th of March. If you have any CCTV in the immediate or wider area, please get in touch. We are looking for any vehicles in convoy or suspicious persons at this time. The vehicle also contained some high value horse saddles and a chiropractor bench. It appears to be a keyless entry. 26000151479 darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
We have received a report of fake £10 notes from a local business. Please be mindful of this if you are buying or selling using cash. How to check your banknotes | Bank of England
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We have organised some work over the next few days and weeks where we are targeting issues around criminal damage to vehicles on East Close. We will be looking at all options as to how to stop this criminal activity, we will be completing some door knocks and exploring options as to how to ease parking issues in the area.
We have also been completing some child safeguarding work, school visits and addressing some parking issues that have been raised by residents.
Bit of good news to share with you. I have had a couple of awards over the last few months. Your engagement and support through Neighbourhood Link is really appreciated and hopefully helps with raising awareness, makes you aware of what we are up to in the area and helps us understand what matters to you. Your ratings and participation with Neighbourhood link really means a lot and does not go unnoticed. Thank you.
Awards for communication and engagement overall contribution, and highly commended for communicator of the year from VISAV
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Evri Scam alert (as requested by resident to raise awareness). Evri non-delivery scams involve fake SMS or emails claiming a missed delivery and demanding a fee to reschedule, aiming to steal personal/bank details. Evri never charges for redelivery, does not request personal info via text, and makes 3 attempts. Always check tracking directly on the Evri Website instead of clicking links.
Whilst it has been a busy few weeks, reports of residential burglary and vehicle crime remain low. Please continue to be aware of your home and vehicle security and ensure you are all ready for any holidays you may have coming up over the next few months. I have attached the crime reduction catalogue for you, so get in touch if you need any support.
Thank you and take care.
