Witness Appeal Oakthorpe

Good morning,

I am currently investigating a dog dangerously out of control incident that occurred on the footpath by the humpback bridge on Chapel Street, Oakthorpe. The incident occurred around 0930hrs on Wednesday 25th February 2026.  The dog I am investigating is a brindle-coloured Staffordshire terrier type breed and was being walked by a white female with long dark coloured hair, aged 35-45 wearing a dark blue coloured coat with a fur lined hood. She appeared to be walking with a gentleman who had a large black dog similar to a Neapolitan Mastiff with him. 

The lady with the Staffordshire dog left a telephone number and name with the victim but so far has not been able to be contacted on those details. Were you in the area at the time? Did you see this incident?  Do you have any idea who the dog walker maybe? If so, please contact me via replying to this message or calling Leicestershire Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 26000115159.
