Street Drinking Follow up

Good Afternoon,

A quick follow-up and what we will be doing going forward with tackling street drinking in the Clarendon Park Gardens area.

We have considered an extension or temporary PSPO (Public Space Protection Order) for the immediate area - but this will be a measure we will explore if the issues are frequent/causing harassment of residents/garden users. Officers have asked residents in the local area who have confirmed that the issues are relatively infrequent, but enough to warrant a response.

Response:

We have created intel. reports surrounding street drinking and the use of drugs, compounded with the drugs issues that were prevalent in 2024/2025 before the closure of the Public Conveniences. This will give officers lawful grounds to stop and search anyone found in the area along with taking details.
