Priority 3 To tackle anti-social behaviour in the area of Granby Street, Belvior Street and Town Hall Square
YOU SAID: -You want to enjoy the Town Hall Square, Granby Street, Belvior and surrounding area but ASB caused by people and vehicles prevents this,
*FEBRUARY UPDATE* -High visibility Police patrols remain a priority in this area and this will continue through March as well. We also have numerous planed Police operations that will be deployed in this location to tackle the anti-social behaviour and drug related criminality that has been reported to us. Our most recent deployment resulted in 10 arrests, 9 stop searches, and 15 drug‑related interventions.
-To further tackle and address the associated anti-social behaviour in this area we have been conducting license checks at numerous premises focusing on the selling of alcohol that is consumed within the locality. Multiple breaches were discovered and 2 stores have been issued final written warnings.
-As part of Project Connect we have been conducting home visits with parents and young people we have identified as being involved in anti-social behaviour. We have completed 5 home visits and issued warning notices, LCC tenancy notices and banning notices from stores and locations that there anti-social behaviour relates to. This project is a wider piece of work that encompasses the entire City Centre. By working with local businesses, Leicester City Council, Youth Intervention Community Safety Teams we are tackling and reducing anti-social behaviour linked to young people.
