Dear Residents,

We want to make you aware that there have been a number of recent burglaries in the Mountsorrel area. In several of these incidents, suspects have gained access by breaking into external key safes and then used the keys to enter the property.

Please take a moment to review the security of any key safes you use at home. Consider the following crime‑prevention advice:

🔐 Key Safe Security

Use a police‑approved, attack‑resistant key safe (Sold Secure or Secured By Design accredited).

Ensure it is securely fitted to a solid wall with appropriate fixings.

Avoid placing key safes in obvious or visible locations.

Regularly change the access code and avoid using simple or guessable combinations.

🏠 General Home Security Tips

Keep doors and windows locked even when at home.

Use timer switches for lights to give the appearance of occupancy.

Ensure sheds, garages, and side gates are secured.

Consider installing CCTV or video doorbells where possible.

👀 Stay Vigilant

Please remain alert and report any suspicious individuals, vehicles, or activity immediately. Your reports help us identify patterns and deploy resources effectively.
