|
Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of a residential burglary on Welbeck Avenue sometime over the last week (between the 14th and 18th of February). Back patio door smashed, and untidy search completed. Nothing taken at this point. Please remember to remove jewellery and cash, use light timers and alarms to protect your property if you are going away. 26000092371. If you have any information or saw anything suspicious, please get in touch. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Resident on Featherston drive (near Brookside junction) has returned home to find damage to the front door lock on the 14th o February. No entry made. 26000097768 if you have any information.
Further report of eggs being thrown at a property on Balliol Road at 14:35 on the 14th of February. We would really appreciate if anyone in the area of Sunnyhill South, Ratcliffe Road, could check their CCTV for a group of youths at this time. Please send on any images or footage to darren.stretton@leics.police.uk 26000090093.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
During patrols, a vehicle was spotted on the A5, Watling Street. As a result, the vehicle was stopped and seized due to no insurance and no tax.
We have been out and about completing patrols around Burbage. We pretty much covered all areas from the Three Pots area, Brookside, flowers estates and Sapcote Road area. Nothing of concern identified.
We have received some complaints regarding parking issues and general dangerous driving on Boyslade Road/Featherstone Drive and the junction of Rugby Road/Brookside. We have visited these areas to monitor and will continue to do so.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
A resident has been in touch from the Twycross Road area stating they suspect someone has tried to gain access to their post box and may have been in their back garden. Please be mindful around outdoor post boxes and locations where parcels are left as you never know who is about, especially with many parcel delivery companies simply leaving parcels at the front door. If you see anything suspicious such as a person garden hopping, please call Police immediately.
Further messages from a resident on Britannia Road of cold callers ignoring “no door-to-door salespeople” signs. It appears this week that these cold callers are still operating in the area offering services such as roofing and building work. Please do not agree to any work and try not to engage with these people. Always seek advice from family or friends and search for reputable companies if you do need work completing.
Mallory Park pre driver day - If there are any parents or grandparents out there with 15–17-year-olds who are looking to start driving, please take a look at the below link. Would make a great gift to support in educating younger, soon to be drivers. Pre-driver Day 2026 Tickets, Monday, Aug 17, 2026 from 9 am to 4 pm | Eventbrite
Thank you and take care.
