🎬🌧️ FOREST BEAT WEATHER UPDATE — “RISING WATERS”
Following the continued rain several areas across the Forest Beat have experienced surface flooding and standing water. With more rain forecast, conditions may worsen throughout the coming week! This can be a real road safety concern — and we need everyone to take extra care. 🌊 WHAT WE’RE SEEING: • Flooded or partially submerged rural lanes • Deeper patches of water where drains are overwhelmed • Reduced visibility during downpours • Water levels rising quickly during further forecast rainfall 🚗 SAFETY MESSAGE: Please do not attempt to drive through flood water — even if it looks shallow. Flood water can hide hazards, cause vehicles to stall, or quickly become deeper than expected.. 📌 IF YOU COME ACROSS FLOOD WATER: • Turn around and find another route • Allow extra time for your journey • Drive slowly and cautiously in wet conditions • Report dangerous flooding via 101 (or 999 in an emergency) Also please see the following link for more information:- Flooding - North West Leicestershire District Council As more heavy rain is expected, please plan ahead and avoid unnecessary risks. Stay safe, stay alert, and take care on the roads. 🌧️🚓 |
