6633 has today joined colleagues from Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service (LFRS) on a preventative patch walk around the Dunbar Way estate, Ashby, focusing on properties backing onto a nearby wooded area.

Following recent reports of a specific tree in the woodland being deliberately set alight — potentially by local youths — the team carried out community engagement to offer residents reassurance and clear advice on:

• 🔥 How to report any fire‑related concerns immediately to LFRS
• 👀 Encouraging residents to remain vigilant around the wooded area
• 🏡 Discussing recent fire‑setting behaviour and how the community can help prevent further incidents

LFRS colleagues also used the opportunity to perform home‑safety checks, ensuring every household had working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, fitting new devices where needed to help keep residents safe in their homes.
